We have some exciting news for our area!

Coaches from DE and NJ-South, we are excited to say that region has shrunk due to the growth in South East PA. That is to say, with the growth in SE PA they are big enough to join forces with the Affiliate Partners in Philadelphia and travel there instead coming way down to Dover DE for the State Championship.

So what does this mean?

1) There will be fewer qualifiers in the Delaware and Southern New Jersey area. This means that there may be one closer to home for you to attend and greater chances for you to advance!

First State FIRST LEGO League (Delaware) will be conducting six (4) Qualifying events for the 2015-2016 season. Information about these events can be found at the Qualifier Events page. We are also piloting a reserved qualifier for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kent County; we will look at offering this to school districts or organization with at least 12 teams in the future. The First State FIRST LEGO League Champion's Tournament will be held at the Delaware State University and more information is available at Champion's Tournament page.

2) Teams will be able to register for any First State FIRST LEGO League (FSFLL) Qualifier in NJ-South or Delaware. Rebecca and I have appropriately sized our qualifiers to accommodate the number of teams in the Delaware, Eastern Pennsylvania, and Southern NJ areas. Currently, the only restrictions will be: A) A team may only register for one qualifier. Either a First State FIRST LEGO League or an Eastern Pennsylvania event. B) If a team qualifies to advance they can advance, only to the Champion's tournament in the region that they qualified in. (ex: E. PA Qualifier to E. PA Champion’s and FSFLL Qualifier to FSFLL Champion's).

3) Event registration will be done at the First State FIRST LEGO League websites in the beginning of October.

4) Event fees for First State FIRST LEGO League will be: $70 to attend a qualifier; and $65 for those who advance to the Champion's event.

And if that was not enough!

First State Jr.FLL will still be available for any team in the Delaware, or Southern NJ area.

Good luck this season! Enjoy the challenges, and remember the tournaments and expos that you attend are there for the students to showcase what they have accomplished, and what they discover is more important than what they win!
